Who and Why We're Here
Girls’ Heart Point is a brand new, Christian, conference-centred ministry that 'hit the market' in February 2005. Our conferences are totally 'girl-oriented' and designed to be high energy, fast paced, technologically edgy and in-your-face relevant!
We're sharing a God-centred perspective on all the things that touch a girl's life: relationships, sexuality, eating, worship, sports, Bible, music performances, fashion, faith stories and so much more.
Some of the hardest realities girls face right now are the powerful, negative, media messages designed to affect what you believe about yourself as a girl. Tons of girls become so disappointed in their own body image and self worth, that they try to fix the way they feel with hurtful things like binge eating, extreme dieting, cutting, alcohol, drugs and sex.
In a culture that tells youth to find their own reality, identity and truth, we've got something way more powerful than what the 'world' is offering . . . Christ! His radical love, power and wisdom gives you the strength to break free and live above all the negative garbage.
We want to talk to you about everything that touches your life. The information, ideas, tips and advice offered through GHP are designed to be in the know about your culture, and 'bang-on' with the heart of God.
The women who are speaking to you and writing for you at GHP
are godly, committed Christians who have been called and prepared for
this ministry. Some are certified, Christian counselors, Bible
teachers, pastors, social workers, trained youth workers and well
researched writers who are determined to do what God says in His word: that
our generation should arise and tell the next generation the truth . .
. so that you girls can put your full confidence in God, and keep His
commandments.
Girls' Heart Point Ministry has an interdenominational Board of Directors and Advisors, and is incorporated under federal law, as a registered Canadian charity. Founder and Director, Onalee Mitchell, describes the ministry vision as: 'Proclaiming Jesus Christ to this generation of girls, so that all may become complete in Him.' Colossians 1: 27 Mentoring relationships, prayer mobilization, leadership development and web site discipleship are all important facets of this ministry.
