On a crash course
Sam: I have this friend who is 14
and on a total crash course. She is drinking, doing really hard drugs,
having sex AND she has bulimia. She started dragging me down, then
thankfully I found God, and do I ever love HIM! I wish that she would
get better. My friends and I reach out to her, and she says she wants
help, but when it comes down to it, she doesn't get the help. We don't
talk anymore, and I know it sounds rude but I don't want to be around
her until she gets better. I wish she could find God like I did.
Broken Friend
Dear Broken Friend:
Being a friend means helping each other in good and bad. Helping a
friend sometimes means listening, sometimes understanding, sometimes
caring and sometimes means taking action. Your friendship is in the
place where taking action is necessary.
Your first step is to
get a parent involved. She needs a responsible adult to help her right
now. Your next step should also include re-building your friendship.
She needs your good Christian influence to help her with her choices.
Your third step is to pray for her. God can turn everything out for
good.
Fixing things up,
Sam
