Cambridge Highlights
“My 12 year old daughter’s lesson from Girls’ Heart Point was a new understanding that God sees all people as a valued creation. This was huge for her as she always thought that God’s love was different for those that know Him and those that don’t. She now understands His love is universal and available to all people. This was such a cool truth to see a young person understand. She will move into being a relevant and loving witness for Christ long before I was ready as a girl.”
Girls’ Heart Point, Cambridge ’06 was the most explosive, radical and deeply reaching event we’ve ever experienced!
Some funky girls got picked for on-stage cheerleaders! That’s why you’ll want to come wearing a weird hat or totally crazy something-or-other next time. A cheerleader could be you!
Friday evening culminated when Susie asked us to write the one word that keeps us from coming closer to God. Everything got ‘dumped’ at the foot of the cross that night.
Here’s Janelle, who’s won so many awards in the world of great Christian performing artists! Janelle told us about Jason, who asked her mom if he could date Janelle when she was 16. Her mom said, “No . . . but you can date our family!” That’s how their romance began. Now, he is married to her.
And Angela Thomas — who hated her own looks as a girl . . . felt dumb and unpopular and awful . . . but God had this awesome plan to heal that stuff . . . and gently transform Angela from the inside out, into a beautiful and authentic woman of faith and beauty. What she said to us started fresh dreams for girls all over the audience.
Worship . . . wonderful, extravagant worship, with radical praise that ‘lazers’ a passage right into heaven! And suddenly, spontaneously, it happened . . . a breakthrough in worship that released us into a special dimension of His presence.
The age appropriate breakout sessions were hard hitting, going right to the heart and lifestyle of this millennial generation. There was so much there to talk about later, girl to girl and mother to daughter . . . certain defining moments, powerful turning points and internal decisions. God knows.
Mothers and daughters . . . the generations go on, and daughters rise up to take their place . . . so soon becoming women themselves. And the nation ? A nation will never be any stronger or more enduring, than its women.
